Danchi, literally translated from Japanese as “group land”, is a large cluster of apartment buildings of particular style and design. It is usually associated with public housing as it was originally implemented throughout the 1950s-1970s to meet the demand of housing. In Japan today, danchi is a declining lifestyle as more people prefer to live in more modern and luxurious condominiums.

APPLEBUM implements the unique aspect of the danchi culture into their latest New Era 59Fifty fitted cap.
