Q: Any tips on how to properly shrink a New Era cap?

A: Unfortunately, there is no absolutely effective way to shrink a cap. With the older 100% wool caps there is shrinkage, but it’s not an exact science. Your are looking at 1/4 of 1/2 size difference with soaking the cap in water and letting it air dry. The wool content used in caps has steadily decreased over the years. Now that the blend is at 70% polyester (or better), the soak method is really no use. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
