(aka “A Fitted for Phil”)

He’s relentless. He holds down the corner of 26th and 5th Avenue like a man possessed. He’s tougher than leather and stronger as steel. He’s motionless. We call him “Phil”. In actuality, this solitary sculpture of a standing male figure cemented in the sidewalk is part of a public art installation by renowned British artist ANTHONY GORMLEY. We literally ran into his Event Horizon art piece in Manhattan’s Flatiron District Friday with Madcapsules. We won’t resist a good photo op, and with the 5D in hand the first shot was taken. Later over a few pies at Gruppos the plan was hatched. The next day I returned with another cap. After a second shot, “Phil” had one of his own. And so our small social experiment begins. We’ll see what becomes of his trusty cap. In closing, we’ll leave you will a fitting theme song for our new friend. (Click the link below to play)
