BENNY GOLD x NEW ERA「Doughboy 2.0」59Fifty Fitted Baseball Cap
When life hands you lemons, order another round. BENNY GOLD was recently slapped with a cease and desist order for his beloved Doughboy fitted cap. The popular style had been a part of their lineup since 2008. The New Era 59Fifty cap in question was inspired by the hat worn by ICE CUBE’s character of the same name from the 1991 film, Boyz In the Hood. Apparently the B was too close of a resemblance to the Birmingham Barons. Benny flipped the situation on its head and took it as an opportunity to reinvent the design. The updated version of the Gothic B follows after the jump. Expect to see the latest incarnation of the Doughboy in the BG Fall / Winter 2011 collection dropping this month. SALUTE!
