APPLEBUM x WUTANG BRAND in association with STRICTLY FITTEDS presents “The Way of the Sword: The OG Edition”. More product previews from this international collaboration will appear shortly. I got a story to tell …
Hot off the presses, the New Era book 2009 has just been released through Shinko Music Entertainment. A continuation from Volume 1, this Japanese release includes the following features: History of New Era, 59FIFTY seasonal special, 2010 Spring / Summer preview and Japanese tastemakers interviews including BIG-O (SWAGGER / PHENOMENON) Master Simon (MIGHTY CROWN) and S-WORD (NITRO MICROPHONE UNDERGROUND). Another odd detail is a NEW ERA branded LED clip-on cap light packaged with the magazine. Available now for 1,490 Yen ($16.40) at select retailers and online at YAHOO JAPAN, JUNKUDO and 7ANDY. More images after the jump.
NEW ERA presents YOUR LIFESTYLE. FITTED. Their new digital lifestyle magazine pulls from different aspects of the fitted baseball cap market, including retail spotlights, interviews and product previews. Pay close attention to the embedded video clips within the articles. NBA 1st round draft pick BLAKE GRIFFIN took the cover of the premier issue. Our very own DJ CLARK KENT is featured in a candid interview in text and video at his lab in Brooklyn. To view the fruits of NEW ERA’s latest venture click the following link: FITTED.Digital Magazine
The question remains. The sizing sticker: Stick it or rip it? The philosophical debate continues. Both sides of the argument are equally passionate. Fitted baseball cap collector and vlogger, SarkazzII brilliantly checks in on the subject. Badge of authenticity or billboard?
Here’s my verdict. Until I wear it the cap in question, the sticker stays on. At that point its a collector’s item on a shelf. The day I put it on my head, the sticker gets either flipped under the bill or ripped off completely. And if it (the sticker) falls off while crossing Park and 18th (yes, this actually happened) you won’t catch me playing in traffic to retrieve it, or replacing it later. It’s just not that serious. Ultimately - to each his or her own. Do you. But for the love of Pete Rose take those gigantic New Era AC Performance labels off!
Philip of HI kills time while waiting online for this recent exclusive FITTED King Kamehameha NEW ERA fitted cap release. Only 30 were made. The highlight of this video is the dude sleeping in the trunk of his car during the campout. Dedication.
We’ve been silent for a while now, but enough is enough. Interesting campaign there NIKE. Questionable, but interesting. One suggestion though. Get that #$@&*!! tag off the cap. Puppet or not, let’s have some dignity. The trend was stupid back in the 80’s and even more ridiculous in 2009. The Black plague is retro, but no one wants to see that come back. Teach the children well! This has been a public service announcement from Strictly Fitteds.
