Pictured here are two unreleased caps from Ambush Designs rocked by the man himself throughout his world travels. Both caps are constructed of premium leather in either Black or White. The front panels feature the AMB bone logo in raised White embroidery. These are guaranteed to be a hot commodity if ever released for sale.
Here’s another fine piece from sports memorabilia auction house LELANDS. This César Gerónimo autographed and game used fitted baseball cap was offered as part of their June 2010 Catalog.Former outfielder César Gerónimo is an alumni of the celebrated Cincinnati Reds during the 1970s, which was known as the “Big Red Machine”. Nicknamed “The Rifle, Gerónimo won four consecutive Gold Glove Awards from 1974-77. Batting and throwing left, Gerónimo was the outstanding defensive center fielder of five divisional championship series and the 1975-76 World Series Champion Cincinnati teams. This game worn, autographed cap was obtained directly from Geronimo himself. The size 7-1/8 WILSON cap features the number 20 is written in faded marker on the inside mesh of the cap. The brim is signed in Black Sharpie “Cesar Geronimo, Game Used”. With only a $100 reserve price, after 14 bids the piece sold for $529.24.
The great 23, and I’m not talking Jordan folks. This one is something for the Yankees Lovers in the audience. Don Mattingly aka “Donnie Baseball” aka “The Hitman” played his entire career in Pinstripes. He’s one of a handful of players to hold the rank of team captain. In 1984, Mattingly won the American League batting title in 1984 with 207 hits and a .343 average. The following year he won the American League Most Valuable Player Award, batting .324 with 35 home runs, 48 doubles, and 145 runs batted in. Mattingly finished his career with 2,153 hits, 222 home runs, 1,099 RBI, and a .307 lifetime average. He is commonly cited as the best Yankee player to have never played in a World Series. In 1997 The Yankees retired his number, 23 and dedicated his plaque for Monument Park at the former Yankee Stadium. Currently serving as the Dodger’s Hitting Coach, industry buzz states Mattingly is anticipated to succeed Joe Torre as the LA Dodgers’ manager after 2010, when Torre is expected to retire.

HUNT AUCTIONS latest round of authentic sports memorabilia has a few interesting fitted baseball cap related pieces mixed in. Here are two highlights that are currently available.
Lot #36 is Mickey Mantle autographed baseball bearing a hand painted painted portrait. The B.Brown OAL baseball has been signed on the sweet spot by “The Commerce Comet” with an added “HOF 1974″ inscription. The blue ink signature rates 9 out of 10. No word on who the artist was that crafted the image of Mantle wearing a Yankees cap. This includes full LOA from PSA/DNA. Rated at EX/MT-NM this auction is expected to close in the price range of $750-$1,000. At press time it sits at $513.00
One of the biggest topics from about a month ago on Twitter was a viral video of teen-sensation JUSTIN BIEBER skateboarding and then some; performing a 180 ollie off a ledge and then proceeding to hump the ground in celebration. An alternative filming angle from Eric Koston’s camera recording the incident revealed P ROD rocking his infamous team rider fitted cap from Mountain Dew / Green Label Art which was featured on Strictly Fitteds last month. Clearly inspired by the iconic Neon colorway from the Air Max 95, this 59Fifty from FUTURA LABORATORIES appeared on preview pics but never made it to the webstore. The Neon Signature Crazy fitted cap was instead replaced with an equally stunning colorway of Anthracite/Grey/Red. Why Futura Laboratories made this decision is beyond me but the Neon Signature Crazy 59Fifty will now remain an unattainable sample.
