COOPERSTOWN CAP COMPANY announced earlier this year they were closing for business. Fortunately for those lovers of Baseball’s Golden Era, there are still pockets of dead stock remaining. Pictured above is a Cooperstown edition 1948 Birmingham Black Barons fitted baseball cap. During this season Hall of Famer, and Negro League Alumni Willie Mays played outfield position at 15 years old. A fine feature of this cap, is the felt applique letters on the front panels and dark Green underbill. This remains as one of my favorite baseball logos of all time.
